The public pages of this site do not set advertising or analytics cookies, because neither advertising nor analytics is enabled.

Strictly necessary storage is used for:

• Editorial sign-in. A session token stored in the browser for signed-in staff only. Readers never receive it.
• Security. Request protection for form submissions.

If advertising is enabled

Google and its partners may set cookies or use similar identifiers to serve and measure advertising. Before that happens:

1. This page will list the categories in use and their purposes.
2. A consent control will appear in the footer, allowing accept, reject and later withdrawal.
3. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, personalised advertising requires a Google-certified consent management platform supporting the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Until such a platform is configured, advertising stays off. Where consent status cannot be determined, the site fails closed and loads nothing.
